Brazil: the forest as a colour study.
Brazil shows up in the archive as two overlapping series: a botanical safari through the dense green of the Atlantic Forest and a film record of more nocturnal scenes. I worked here with saturated colour — the red of the heliconias, the fuchsia of the bromeliads, the cobalt blue of the macaw — but I didn't let it shout: I frame it tight, keep it in half-shadow, balance it with leaves that almost fill the frame.
The series is short and deliberate, almost a study: few photographs, all strong, none redundant. The tropical here isn't exotic postcard, but a chromatic lesson.
